Get to know how we work at Kolibri

Our methodology

Kolibri utilizes academic, artistic, and cultural means, as well as sports, as educational tools. Our pedagogy is geared towards developing the student’s observation skills, discovering his/her own potential and to always go further in the learning process. The contents are, amongst others: universal values, environmental issues, hygiene, proper behaviour, and literacy.

Guiding principles of social assistence work:

Principle 1: To become and to express oneself

From 6 to 18 years old

Confronting the individual with different form of expressions with others: sports, music, different languages… Its objective is to make the individual find her/his own form of expression and build socio-effective bonds with other, family and the community.

Principle 2: To become and to grow

From 10 to 13 years old

This principle covers the activities of transition from childhood to adolescence, it focuses more on educational needs, with the objective to fill gaps left by school such as writting and reading, logical reasoning, digital inclusion, etc. Another aspect of this principle is to help the children to develop a more sensitive look to other people’s needs as well as the environment’s through respect for ethical-racial diversity, gender, environment, etc.

Principle 3: To become and to arise

From 14 to 16 years old

This principle deals with what provokes a vocational awakening to a person. Throughout the activities given in this module, young people start to perceive themselves as a whole, finding what interested them the most and discovering new talents that will help them out in thei future. As a reference for this personal development program, we have the Nectar project.

Principle 4: To become and to go on

From 16 to 24 years old

This is the largest and most complex principle because it covers new areas that the RCBF intends to be more present such as professional and technical courses, management skills classes,  entrepreneurship, among others. Part of this module is the preparation of young people for work through internships in companies. The activities given are professional courses that will help its students to have a competitive advantage in the work market and give them all the professional tools to have a successfull career.

Human development

We help students live experiences that contribute to expand their ability to dialogue and to live with those around them. We use tools that improve their learning abilities and help them better to better adapt, make decisions, look at themselves and observe the world they live in. This educational development is fundamental for young people because it helps them to see their own potential and convince them that life is full of possibilities.

Our projects

Young warriors

Young Warriors is an educational program which aims to improve the social life of the children aged between 11 and 13 years who live in precarious and vulnerable situations. Normally there are one hundred participants in the program subdivided into four groups of 25. The program stresses the value of: family, school, community and cultural life in its many manifestations, thus stimulating the children’s physical, educational and social development. At the end of this one-year program, the children become “ambassadors for good actions”, carrying out social actions for the benefit of their community. ¨The Nectar program has existed for five years and offers pre-professional and vocational orientation for youngsters between 14 and 16 years. It aims to expand the youngsters’ social world’s boundaries, and to provide them with a different vision for their future, both educationally and professionally. The program takes into account different aspects necessary for an adolescent’s development, such as: citizenship, sport, culture, technical education, foreign language, communication, and practical day-to-day philosophy. Through the Nectar project the youngsters are exposed to and have direct contact with different segments of the job market thus enabling them to better appraise and decide upon which professional path to pursue.

The amount invested can be 100% deduced from the companies´ tax bill up to a certain percentage of total taxes due. These incentives make it possible for companies to transform the lives of thousands of underprivileged children and adolescents at zero cost.
